The City League Project was founded in 2022 by James Phillips. Basketball was a large part of James' childhood, playing through the beginning of his college years. Coming out of the pandemic, James longed for the sense of community that basketball had always provided him. This desire led to the launch of the Vancouver City League for adults, which quickly became a premier option for adult basketball in the area. The widespread demand for such a community was evident. Building on this revelation, the focus shifted to youth basketball, leading to the creation of the City League Project. The organization was established to provide a space for all youth to play basketball and develop a love for the game.

Our mission is to create an experience that fosters and celebrates the love of the game for all ages. We believe basketball will equip youth with the skills and values to tackle life's challenges. We envision basketball as a catalyst for community revival and playful culture across the country.
